Three Well Known Radio People Have Thoughts About ABORTION, THE AIRPORT SOLUTION and "FAITH"!!!

But first...Does President Obama know what he's doing?

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm a lifetime Republican who voted for Barack Obama. He is the first Democrat I've ever voted for. I believe that George W. Bush was the worst President we've had in my lifetime. In fact, he might have been the worst President this country has ever had!

This country's financial mess isn't George W. Bush's fault. The spending and borrowing that has gotten our country into the mess we're in, is a mess that's been developing at least since the Reagan years and maybe before that! We're in two wars that were started by George W. Bush. Wars that George W. Bush put on our credit card. Wars that helped drive our deficit deeper into a ditch. It was also George W. Bush's idea to bail out the banks. Had George W. Bush gotten his way, he would also have allowed amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants and he would have totally screwed up Social Security.

So I ask myself, "Self, what has Barack Obama done to help alleviate this mess he inherited?"

Hmmmm....Wellll....We're still in Iraq and he has added more troops to the Afghanistan war. How is it being paid for? On our credit card.

President Obama continued with the bailing out of banks.

President Obama sounds like he's interested in providing amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants.

He hasn't really addressed Social Security yet, but maybe that's because he just hasn't gotten around to it.

Yes, I know he's been in office for less than a year and a half.

But in that time, he could have saved us a lot of money by getting us out of Iraq and Afghanistan.

In that time, he could have begun to save us a lot of money by making it clear that lawbreaking immigrants are NOT people who are ABOVE the law!

Bottom line after almost a year and a half?

Well, to me, I'm getting the feeling that the vote I cast for Barack Obama because I wanted "change I could believe in", has turned out to be, a vote for a guy who to me, is best described as being, Bush Light!!!

I wouldn't have made that vote if that's who President Obama is! I would have voted for Ron Paul.

McCain-Palin? I never considered voting for them because McCain's another guy who has "daddy issues" and Palin is simply a charismatic cartoon character.

Speaking of all the money we've been putting on our credit card that has caused our deficit to skyrocket, etc...

Have you heard about the economic story involving CHINA?!? First of all, are you aware of how much money we (the USA) OWE China because of all the money we've borrowed from them? To make it simple, I'll simply say, a LOT!

Experts are predicting that CHINA'S ECONOMY MIGHT CRASH in the next 9-12 months.
Okayyyy....And if that happens and China demands that we pay them what we owe them....????

Congratulations to the law enforcement folks for getting this guy before he could do any damage. I know you've heard about this. It happened in New York. A vehicle that was loaded up with explosives.

And the guy who did the loading is another guy who should never have been in this country. Faisal Shahzad is now the new "poster child" for the reason we should put a BOLT on the immigration door until we get this country's financial affairs straightened out.

Faisal Shahzad was born in Pakistan. First of all, no one but no one, born in Pakistan should be allowed to come to this country. Faisal Shahzad was able to become a legal citizen here by marrying a woman who was born in Colorado and whose name is, Huma Mian. Huma Mian and Faisal Shahzad had a couple of kids here, Shahzad got a couple of degrees here and then the family seems to have made living arrangements in Pakistan where U.S. authorities believe Faisal Shahzad was taught how to make bombs.

Oh, yeah. Let's leave our borders and doors wide open for these kinds of people. And while we're at it, let's pray at the alter of illegal immigrants and "scum legals" who by gaming our system get legalized so it will be easier to bite us in the ass.

Oh, but the great Catholic Cardinal, Roger Mahony welcomes and protects illegal immigrants because they're "wonderful people" who are being characterized unfairly.

Cardinal Mahony, I will give you this; You sir, are consistent. You protect illegal immigrants who take more than they give and you have protected pedophile priests who.....

Yeah, they're takers, too. Takers of the innocence of children.

For you Catholic Church and or Cardinal Mahony enablers who might say, "Scott! You're WRONG!", I respond by saying, "And that 660+ MILLION DOLLARS authorized by Cardinal Mahony was for WHAT?!?"

You are about to read thoughts and or ideas from three people who happen to be big names in the radio business. I spent a lot of time in the radio business and I have communicated with two of these three often and I'm very familiar with the third person.

I've known Rick for almost 30 years. Rick is a radio Hall of Famer who, along with Wally Clark was responsible for turning KIIS-FM here in Los Angeles into a radio powerhouse. I met Rick when he asked me to do some work for him. Sometimes it would be a day or two, several days, couple of weeks and when I was asked to be their war reporter for Bush Senior's Iraq war, that was a job that lasted quite a while. He also asked me to help out with a television show he had and has often asked me to do some voice work for him. Above all, Rick Dees has been and is, my friend.

Rick is now doing a lot of radio and video related things in what I refer to as "The Rick Dees Building" in Burbank, California. For more on what Rick is up to, you're invited/encouraged to check out

Rick is also a regular reader of this blog.

And he didn't agree with some of what I said about the abortion issue in last week's blog. If you didn't read last week's blog, it's still up there, just below this one. Read it and you'll know what Rick is referring to.

In essence, I wrote about politicians in different states who seem to be trying make abortion more difficult and or illegal and I wrote about a personal experience that I ended by stating that I support a "woman's right to choose".

Rick Dees is a man of few words and here is the response note he sent to me:

"Every one is a master piece!!!"

Whether you have to think about it or if you have an immediate reaction to what Rick writes/wrote, it's kind of hard to disagree with that, isn't it?

Of course when I look in the mirror, I could make an argument against what Rick wrote and maybe you could too, but I think we all understand where he's coming from.

Thanks for your thoughts, my friend.

I gave you Claude's background a couple of weeks ago. For a very long time, Claude Hall was America's most widely read radio columnist and whoever was second is someone no one remembers.

Claude wrote me a note regarding what I had written about the pedophile priest business, the possible involvement of the Pope and religion in general.

And here it is.

Scott...When I was doing my Great American Novel, I did a lot of research regarding religion. Everything can be blamed on the Pope. After about 300 AD, anyway. It's terrifying to rationalize the damage to the gene pool because of the so-called children's crusades. Why not a Holy War against England? They deserved it. Could the Pope have stopped Hitler? What about the damages done to natives by the invasion of the Spaniards? It goes on and on. Several years ago, long before this Catholic thing was public, a Morman told me much more that I wanted to know. Essentially the same story as now. Maybe the problem is lack of control. Maybe the problem is having faith.

Thanks, Claude. And wow! "Maybe the problem is having faith"? Boy, there's something to chew on, huh?

I have met George Wilson. I had drinks with George Wilson at a legendary radio and music tavern known as "Martoni's" just off Sunset Boulevard here in Los Angeles, but I don't pretend to being a good friend of his. We simply never saw each other that often. I think he's pretty much retired now, but for a good length of time, he was a major, major big market radio executive. Before telling you what he wrote about, I want to mention George's son. He was doing the afternoon radio show for his dad on a big station here in Los Angeles when I met him at Martoni's. I believe he was going by the name of G.W. McCoy. If I have that wrong, here's what I don't have wrong. G.W. had a date with him. A young lady who was then doing a lot of milk commercials and was also starring in a cop show that I think William Shatner was also starring in. "T.J. Hooker", perhaps? I'm not sure. This was before she started dating and marrying rock stars. Heather Locklear. I had a chance to talk with her for a few minutes while G.W. was in the men's room. She was (and probably still is) a real guy's girl! A beer drinking, shoot your best shot, girl. I fell in love with her immediately. And haven't been within 50 yards of her since.

Back to G.W.'s dad, George Wilson.

I have written about airport security, the racial profiling argument, etc., etc.

George Wilson has written a piece that's titled, "The Airport Solution" and here it is.

Here's a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners at the airports.

Have a booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on you.

It would be a win-win for everyone, and there would be none of this crap about racial profiling and this method would eliminate a long and expensive trial. Justice would be quick and swift. Case closed!

This is so simple that it's brilliant. I can see it now:
You're in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion.

Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system, "Attention standby passengers! We now have a seat available on flight number..."

Thanks, George. Works for me and your friend Claude Hall claims that he always knew you were brilliant and this confirms it.

Another great episode of "The Good Wife". Tuesday nights at 10, 9 Central on CBS. They've added two more interesting characters and the writing is superb!!!

"24" continues to be big time exciting and fun to watch while this series is coming to an end. In case you hadn't heard, a "24" FILM is expected to be made sometime next year, as long as Kiefer Sutherland doesn't drink himself to death.

"Justified", Tuesday night at 10, 9 Central on FX continues to be a terrific television show. If you're like me and you're watching "The Good Wife" at that time, please know that "Justified" does a repeat at 11, 10 Central that same night.

And of course, the best way to watch "Parenthood" on NBC is to check out the repeat episode Saturday nights at 8, 7 Central.

Sharon Stone's second of four episodes on NBC's "Law & Order: SVU", will be thisThursday night (tomorrow) at 10, 9 Central.

Latest Lindsay Lohan story...

I like Lindsay Lohan. I've never met her, but she has a ton of acting talent that she's been wasting because of what appears to be a lot of self-destructive behavior.

We're told that the Tarentino people tried to throw her a "lifeline" when they supposedly offered her a very nice role in a new Tarantino film, but the money people allegedly refused to let her be hired because they seriously question her "value".

Lindsay Lohan now has a new job. She is on board to star in a low budget film with Bill Pullman that is titled, "Inferno". Pullman will play the role of Hugh Hefner in a true based story about Linda Lovelace that will be played by Lohan. For those of you with short memories, Linda Lovelace became famous for starring in the first Porn film that had major mainstream appeal. A film that was titled, "Deep Throat", which is not to be confused with the Watergate character of the same name.

THOUGHTS AND OR COMMENTS? Please write to me at and I will respond to you immediately. If you write to the blog, there's no way for me to know your email address so I won't be able to respond to you. Again... and I will respond to you immediately. All "Anonymous" emails are ignored.

THE NEXT BLOG? Barring unforseen circumstances, late Wednesday night, May 12 or very early Thursday morning, May 13.
