WHY ARE DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES AGAINST ENGLISH BEING THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA???
EDITOR's NOTE: I received a few notes from readers saying the audio version of this blog wasn't on at the times I said they'd be on.
Please be patient, gang. This is something new for the people in charge of these three music sites and anytime you try to do something new, you experience "growing pains". There are very good people trying to make this work and work properly. Hey, they must be good because they want an audio version of this blog on a daily basis, right?
And look on the bright side. I've tipped you off to three great music sites. Enjoy the good music while they try to program the blog broadcasts properly.
The links to these sites are at the bottom of my links section which is to the right of what you're reading now.

WHY ARE DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES AGAINST ENGLISH BEING THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA???
Did you see the Democratic presidential debates the other night? Candidates were asked to raise their hands if they were in favor of English being the official language of our country. The only candidate who raised his hand was a former senator from Alaska.
Do we want to vote for someone who's against English being our official language. I mean, when did English stop being our "unofficial language" that damn well ought to be our official language? Shouldn't it? If you disagree, please write and tell me why.
The Republican presidential candidates were asked the same question in their last debate where every candidate except John McCain raised their hands to indicate that they did believe that English should be our official language.
Short commentary: Say goodnight, Senator McCain.
SENATE IMMIGRATION BILL:
It's hard to tell what's going to happen to the immigration bill in the Senate that a lot of people want passed while a lot of other people don't want it passed. One of the things a lot of supporters of this bill are drawing a line in the sand on is their opposition to a proposed amendment that would disqualify current illegal immigrants if they have been found guilty of the crime of "identity theft". I don't know about you, but any United States Senator who doesn't have a problem with that crime regarding a citizenship yes or no requirement is a United States Senator I want voted out of office.
BOB BARKER HAS LEFT THE BUILDING:
Legendary game-show host Bob Barker taped his final "The Price Is Right" show yesterday in front of packed house of adoring admirers who gave him more than one standing ovation. The final show will air on CBS two Fridays from now. Who will host the show after that? We're told that there are four candidates. E! Network's Todd Newton, Entertainment Tonight's Mark Steines, John O'Hurley and George Hamilton. Which one of those four would you choose? George Hamilton would be my choice.
IT's OFFICIAL! "JERICHO" IS COMING BACK!
Yesterday, we told you about the rumor. Now we can tell you it's a fact! The CBS show "Jericho" will be back for seven episodes sometime after the first of next year. CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said that outraged viewers got CBS' attention and now it's up to the viewers to get more viewers to watch when "Jericho" returns. If that happens, "Jericho" will be renewed for the following season.
DINA LOHAN:
Do you know who Dina Lohan is? She's Lindsay Lohan's mother. A mother, who instead of being a mother, appears to be a person who's (at times) living vicariously through her famous daughter. Her daughter is currently in rehab, so what's Mother Dina doing? You'd figure, that like most good mother's would, she'd be offering support, advice, etc. to Lindsay about how her (Lindsay's) partying ways could end up being big time destructive if she doesn't change her ways. That's what I'd hope my mom would do! Well, it seems that Mother Dina is busy working on trying to get her own taste of fame in the form of a reality TV show. A show that would be called, "Mom-ager". In this show she'll be trying to turn her youngest children, Ali, who's 14, and Cody, who's 11, into stars. And then of course, those kids would get all that good follow-up stuff like Mother Dina has given daughter Lindsay.
Tomorrow we're going to give you George Clooney and Brad Pitt's take(s) on problems young stars are having.
TWO MOVIES WORTH CHECKING OUT:
I recently saw a couple of 2005 films on cable that I'd like to recommend to you.
"The History of Violence", which stars Viggo Mortensen, Maria Bello, Ed Harris and William Hurt. Viggo Mortensen plays a guy who's nothing like he appears to be...Maria Bello, who's always good, is good as Mortensen's loving and supportive wife, before having serious questions about her man...Ed Harris plays a smooth talking very bad guy...William Hurt plays an even smoother talking bad guy and when the film is over we've experienced...Well, we've experienced what the title implies; "A History of Violence". I saw it on HBO and I heartily recommend it.
Same deal with a film I saw on The Movie Channel which will be shown again tonight. "Four Brothers". This is about four adopted brothers who are hell bent on avenging the murder of the mother who adopted them. Mark Wahlberg and Terrence Howard headline this very good cast and John Singleton directed the film. Lots of violence, but this film features a good story as well.
EDITOR's NOTE: If you read this before pictures have been added, come back! Pictures will be up soon! A new blog is written every morning, Monday through Friday and is posted between 7 and 7:15 (sometimes earlier). Questions and or comments can be sent to scottstjames@sbcglobal.net I do write back.
TOMORROW: George Clooney, Brad Pitt, more on Paris Hilton and why I think Scooter Libby is lucky he's not being shot for treason.
